The relaunch of the Moonbeam Cultural Centre takes place this Saturday and Sunday with a full slate of activities. Communications and community services coordinator Marie-Soleil Vellleux says a provincial grant helped with the renovations to the Centre located the Leonard house, the oldest home in town.
“We’ve updated we’ve painted, added new trim to make it feel more like nature,” she said. “We’ve updated the floors. We are just getting a new sense of the space with more nature vibes.”
Events include live music on Saturday night at the Bouchard Community Centre, plus the open house on Sunday from noon to 6 pm.
Veilleux says there will demonstrations of pottery, wood working and sewing as well as food and more live music.
“We want to help promote the history of Moonbeam with this house because it’s redone,” she said. “We want to have people artists from all over the world, the country come and visit and show us their art forms and of course we want artists right, we want to give them the space to create.”
