Kap History: Bank building dedication

A special ceremony for Caisse Populaire is the subjects of this week’s Kapuskasing and area history segment.

We jump back in time to the June 12th 1963 edition of the Northern Times where a photo displays the dedication ceremony for an addition to the bank’s original building. Caisse Populaire offices are located on the main floor and there was another suite of offices on the second floor.

Officiating at the dedication were: Bishop Leveque of Hearst, but also in attendance and in the photo were Guy Villeneuve from the bank, Father Latulipe, Bishop Levesque and Father St. Laurent.

We thank the Kapuskasing Public Library for the use of the archives for our Monday segment.
