Phase three of a work-to-rule job action has been launched according to the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario.
This change affects grades one to eight students within the District School Board Ontario North East.
The EFTO says there will be some strike actions like not filling-in for absent teachers, not taking additional students if classes collapse and not taking on other duties during preparation time.
The Board’s Chair Doug Shearer says there may be increased absenteeism among teachers in ONE elementary schools.
The EFTO has been without a deal for over a year and have been in a legal strike position since May.
The EFTO says it may move to phase four of rotating strikes if a deal is not made.
