The chief administrative officer for the Town of Kapuskasing says money from the provincial government for connecting link restoration is “very critical”.
The work will happen on Government Rd., which is part of Hwy. 11, between Riverside Dr.and Bonnieview Rd.
Guylain Baril says it will be carried out in summer, 2025.
“This helps to maintain the highway,” the CAO notes.. “It’s the road through our town that sees the most damage by trucks and heavy vehicles.”
Baril also adds that it wouldn’t be fair for municipal taxes to have to pay the project cost. And he notes that it will leave only about one kilometre of road to tackle.
“There’s one segment left, roughly from Walmart to he easterly boundary of Kapuskasing.”
