The Kapuskasing Food Bank and the Warm Belly Soup Kitchen will once again benefit from the proceeds from the Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie campaign.
This year the Smile Cookies will be available between April 29 and May 5th. Kitchen coordinator Amanda Rickard was thrilled with the news and knows there’s lots of work to do.
“And last year we raised a total of $18,794,” she said. “This year we’re gonna go for the gold and aim for $20,000 or $13,500 cookies.”
She adds things will be a bit different this year.
“So this year we’ve decided not to do any pre-activities and focus all of our attention on getting those $13,500 cookies done,” she said “However, we will be looking for volunteers so stay tuned for the Warm Belly Facebook page, as well as the Kapuskasing Food Bank page.”
