Four people arrested and charged following search warrant at Kap home

Four people are up on numerous drug possession charges following the execution of a search warrant in Kapuskasing last Tuesday, March 26.

Police seized from a home on O’Brien Avenue drugs suspected to be fentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, oxycodone, Xanax with a total street value of $70,000. Also recovered from the home was $2,400 in cash, a glock 43 handgun and six cell phones.

A 64 year old from Kapuskasing is facing two counts each of possession of cocaine, possession of an opioid and one count of possession of methamphetamine, possession of trafficking a substance, possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5,000; careless storage of a firearm, possession of a loaded restricted firearm and unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm.

A 28-year-old from Toronto is facing two counts each of possession of cocaine, possession of an opioid and one count of possession of methamphetamine, possession of trafficking a substance, possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5,000; careless storage of a firearm, possession of a loaded restricted firearm and unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm contrary to a probation order.

One 15 year old young offender was also charged with the following: two counts each of possession of cocaine, possession of an opioid and one count of possession of methamphetamine, possession of trafficking a substance, possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5,000; careless storage of a firearm, possession of a loaded restricted firearm and unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm and failure to comply with a release order.

A 16 year old young offender is charged with two counts each of possession of cocaine, possession of an opioid and one count of possession of methamphetamine, possession of trafficking a substance, possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5,000; careless storage of a firearm, possession of a loaded restricted firearm and unauthorized possession of a restricted firearm.

Three remain in police custody while a fourth was released after a bail hearing.
