Margo Knowles joins Ice Follies focus of Kap History

A Kap native being named to a prestigious figure skating organization is the subject of our weekly history segment.

We head to the April 5th, 1961 edition of the Northern Times where a story reported on Margo Knowles joining Ice Follies. The skating show travelled all over the country and was enjoyed by many people.

Knowles is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs George Knowles and began her skating career in Timmins before the family moved to Kapuskasing. Margo won the Northern Ontario Ladies and Dance Championships in 1954-1955.

She headed to San Francisco to join Ice Falls in June of that year.
