A utility pole fire on Gough Road is the likely cause of a lengthy power failure on Friday that left residents from Moonbeam to Opasatika including Kapuskasing without electricity for in some cases 24 hours.
The power went out shortly after 3:30 pm on Friday afternoon between Moonbeam and in some parts of Hearst. But that community had power restored in about 30 minutes. The lights came on shortly after 9:30 Saturday morning for most residents on Highway 11, but others had to wait until 3:30 in the afternoon.
Moose FM has reached out to Hydro One communications for more details regarding the outage. When we get that information, we will pass it along to you.
