This weird transition of winter into spring is cause for celebration for snowmobilers.
It’s far from the entire trail system in the region, but part of the trail north and south of Cochrane has reopened. Polar Bear Riders Snowmobile Club president Kenny Johnston also confirms that a wee bit just east of Kapuskasing is open again, too.
Groomers have been out, making use of the accumulation of snow we’ve received this week. Johnston says more trails might reopen over the weekend, and to consult the OFSC interactive guide map. He adds that the status will remain yellow on the map, for “limited”.
