Opportunity to learn to cope with mourning

Beginning Thursday, February 15th, you can get help to cope with the crushing grief you’re feeling at the loss of a spouse, a child or close friend.

Ted Bendell is one of three facilitators for the hybrid in person-online series called “Mourning to Joy”.  It lasts 13 weeks. Bendell says it provides tools to help you manage the grief.

“I came across something a while ago that said the aim is not to get rid of grief,” he remarks.”That would be like trying to drain the ocean. The purpose is to help you learn to swim.”

There is a workbook and videos supplied by the GriefShare charity. . You can participate in person at the Bible Fellowship Assembly, or online.

Bendell says you won’t master grief, but he has seen some dramatic transformations.

“We’ve had people who could barely look you in the face when they first came. And then by the end, they were able to smile, even to joke with you.”
