The Kapuskasing Area Family Health Team and the Centre de Sante are getting $355,000 from the province as part of $1.373 million in funding announced today.
Centre executive director Denis Beaulac says the two health organizations submitted a proposal together but still awaiting details from Ontario Health of how the money will be used.
“One of the main goals would be to add more health human resources either nurse practitioners, RNs or RPNS but this will depend on the programs that we want to offer,” he said.
Beaulauc says the funding is big news for both organizations, adding that the province is looking at adding new sites for primary care so more people can get access to services.
