OPP and OFSC reminds people to be careful riding snowmobiles

The OPP and the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs are reminding everyone to make smart decisions before and during their ride as part of Snowmobile Safety Week.

Police say over the last decade, driving too fast, consuming alcohol or drugs, and riding on unsafe frozen waterways have been the leading causes of OPP-investigated snowmobile deaths. They’re urging everyone to ride sober and drug-free.

The O-F-S-C trails remain closed across pretty much all of Ontario, with just over 5,200 km of available trails as of today.

Some of those trails are in the Kapuskasing, and Cochrane areas. Please check the OFSC Interactive trail guide for the latest trail conditions before you ride.
