Ontario Provincial Police report 98 people across the northeast region were charged with impaired driving offences during the Festive RIDE campaign. The initiative aimed at reducing impaired driving ran from November 16 until January 1.
The OPP says 78 charges were alcohol-related while 20 were drug-related. On top of the charges, 26 people were issued 3-day driver’s license suspensions and one person a 7-day license suspension, as a result of registering an “Alert” on an approved screening device.
