Heart Town Council has passed a new bylaw amending its user fees for the Rene Fontaine Municipal Airport.
Town staff was asked to conduct a review to check out industry standards and practices for land lease calculations and rates.
CAO Eric Picard says the goal isn’t to lose money at the airport but to create more with land fees and economic development. The new bylaw now includes land lease rates for private and commercial operations.
Hearst rates are among the lowest along the highway 11 corridor.
