The Town of Kap won’t be installing an ice rink at Riverside Park this winter. The rink was built for the 100th anniversary celebrations as the pandemic had restricted many other activities but not outdoor rinks.
Recreation Director Marc Clavelle says the number of people using the rink has dropped dramatically to a point where it’s not feasible anymore.
He adds that the ice pad has also destroyed the grass underneath and it takes most of the summer to grow it back.
