Dialysis unit next fundraising project for Sensenbrenner Hospital Foundation

Never known for sitting idle, the Sensenbrenner Hospital Foundation is on a new quest, to raise money for renovations to the Kapuskasing hospital’s dialysis unit.

Project manager Mireille Dubosq says the renovations will include onsite storage for equipment and supplies, and a private parking lot, so that trucks can deliver directly to the clinic, and patients have easier access

“So whoever has use of assistive devices, they’re going to be able to just walk in through the door off their private parking lot, rather than having to walk through the entire hospital and back,” Dubosq explains.

The project cost is $472,500, to be raised by a separate campaign, and proceeds of the ongoing 50-50 and jewellery draws.

Proceeds from the Moose FM Radiothon planned for December could also be used.

“Unless we get a very generous donor, which is always our hope,” Dubosq quickly adds with optimism, “then we would have to move to our second project.”

Dubosq hopes all the money for the dialysis unit is in the bank within a year.
