Construction on Connecting Link nearly completed, Brunelle Road North progressing well

There is light at the end of the tunnel of construction season in Kapuskasing. Paving is expected to start this week on the Connecting Link from Service Master business to Caron Street. Public Works General Manager Eric Cote says the curbs and sidewalks have been completed.

“I’m going to say we had forecasted the end of October so we are well ahead of schedule on that one so hopefully by next week we are completed and gone,” he said.

Cote says construction on Brunelle Road North is progressing well with crews completing a section of road before moving forward.

“So basically we are putting in three different lines of piping in one trench so there is the water main, the sewage main and the storm system going in at the same time,” he said. “So as we are progressing forward everything behind us is completed.”

Construction is expected to be concluded near the Sports Palace by December.
