Ontario New Democrat leader Marit Stiles will be up north this weekend with stops in Hearst, Kapuskasing and Smooth Rock Falls. Mushkegowuk-James Bay MPP Guy Bourgouin says there’s a lunch meeting planned with officials from Notre Dame Hospital in Hearst.
“The lack of doctors and our hospitals came close to shutting down the emergency rooms so all of these issues we deal with on a regular basis,” he said. These hospitals are doing miracles just to keep our hospitals and emergencies efficient.”
Stiles will also be speaking at the Association of Francophone Municipalities of Ontario conference in Kapuskasing on Saturday night. On Sunday, Bourgouin and Stiles are hosting a free brunch at La Forge in Kap from 10 am to 12:30.
“Come and meet her she speaks both French and English and she is a person who is very dynamic and is very friendly, so it gives people a chance to meet our new leader and see what she is all about,” he said.
