Habitat Interlude is hosting Take Back the Night tomorrow night starting at Kapuskasing’s Riverside Park. Pre-registration and festivities begins at 6 pm followed by the walk at 7. Organizer Chelsea Mateev says it’s a special night that brings everyone together for one common voice.
“All against violence and work together to build a safer and more companionate community,” she said. “Really strengthening that sense of unity and community and showing survivors that their not alone and there are people that care deeply about ending violence.”
Participants can walk, jog or bike a 1, 3, 5 or 10 km route.
Mateev hopes for another great turnout and better weather conditions.
“Last year was amazing and it was beautiful with the energy of everyone being together at the park even with the rainy weather was gorgeous,” she said. “So I’m hoping this year will be just as beautiful of an event.”
