Frustrations are being voiced about Air Canada by a Timmins man who booked a vacation out of the country for both October and January.
Barry Gutcher learned matter-of-factly that flights home from Toronto were changed to a day later. That means staying overnight in Toronto.
“They don’t send you an email to tell you,” he says. “You have to go to the app and check.”
Gutcher says it’s inconvenient for him and his spouse, as well as people with medical appointments, and business travellers now having to stay over.
“In my case, Air Canada was good enough to pay for the accommodations,” Gutcher notes, “but there’s still extra vacation time that has to be taken, or meals have to be paid for, inconvenience…”
The airline say the changes are due to seasonal adjustments and flight reductions into Timmins between October 29th and January 15th.
“There’s got to be a way for them to know that they’re going to be cancelling flights coming to Timmins” Gutcher concludes, “therefore not giving the people who book vacations false hope.”
