Demolition Derby one of many highlights to Kap Kraze

One of the highlights to Kap Kraze that concluded over the weekend at the Sports Palace was the sold-out Demolition Derby. More than 2,000 people cheered nearly 40 competitors in a variety of different shapes, sizes and colours of vehicles.  One of the class winners Johnathan Morrow explains the length of time it took to put together his car and van for the derby.

“So we built a van in four days five days a week, and the car we have been building ever since March when we pulled it out of the snow,” he said.

Kevin Godin was in all five different categories.

“I’m running every class,” he said. “I helped all my buddies build theirs. We’ve been at it since March, been doing a lot of work on the cars and we are having fun.”

Patrick Albert says it was fun to take part in the event and really enjoyed watching his family helping to put the cars together. Kap Kraze also had nearly a full house for the concert on Saturday night featuring Washboard Union. You can visit Moose FM’s Facebook page for a visual recap of the weekend.
