Federal Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre says his party isn’t to blame for Kap losing its riding

Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre is denying his party supported the riding redistribution commission report that eliminates Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing. In an interview with Moose FM news, Poilievre says it’s miss-information and that the commission was appointed by the Liberal speaker.

“Conservatives are not in government, we don’t control the process,” he said. “The process is controlled by the Liberal appointed electoral commission. So I would if people are not happy with to take up their complaints with the NDP-Liberal coalition because they’re the ones that made it happen.”

Poilievre rolled his Axe The Tax rally into Kapuskasing last night. In front of a large crowd at the Centre de Loisirs, Poilievre offered a solution to the healthcare worker shortage that’s been a major problem in this region.

“I’m going to bring in a Blue Seal Test so our immigrant doctors and nurses can prove their qualifications and get to work,” he said. “We get thousands of new doctors and nurses in our rural communities serving those patients and reducing those horrible wait times right across the country. It’s Common Sense.”
