Hearst Rotary Club to hold drive thru fundraiser on Sunday

The Hearst Rotary club is extending its April kids month fundraising campaign by another week. The club has added a drive-thru collection this Sunday from noon to 4 pm at the Pavilion.

Committee chairperson Sophie Gagnon says the goal of the month is to raise about $15,000 including $5,000 from this new event.

The money stays in the Mattice to Constance Lake area.

“So people can have winter clothes, people need different technologies in order to help with learning and medical assistance,” she said. “We’ve bought wheelchairs, we’ve bought all kinds of equipment like that so it’s basically all of the kids up to 18 and families.”

Gagnon says a similar fundraiser was held during the pandemic and Rotary Club members suggested the idea as another way to add to the coffers.

If you can’t make it out, you can donate at Caisse Alliance or online through a link on the Hearst Rotary Club’s Facebook page.
