The Big Winter Festiglace is launching a winter market place this Saturday when the festival gets underway. Tourism and special events coordinator Kelly Kraby says several wooden huts will set up in the parking area near the Kap River Bay.
“Nine wooden kiosks that are able to accommodate vendors so if they want to sell fishing lures, or mitts or whatever they want to sell,” she said. “We have a lot of artisans here in Kapuskasing. So we are going to have a marketplace during the two weekends.”
Kraby says the huts also keep vendors out of the elements and provide the area with a unique feel.
“Kinda like a Christmas village vibe, especially now in the winter they are big in European countries,” she said. “We kind of wanted to unify and have everything looking the same.”
