The town of Opasatika will have a new mayor at the helm this fall. Jacques Dorval replaces incumbent Denis Dorval, no relation, as Mayor after the incumbent chose not to run again. Jacques Dorval was mayor of Opasatika from 2000 to 2006. Meantime all four incumbent town councillors are looking for their seats back this fall. Helene Jean, Reynald Marin, Alain Pineault and Maxime Turgeon are being challenged by three candidates.
In the community of Mattice-Val Cote, there will just be a race for mayor as incumbent Marc Dupuis is being challenged by Gaetan Garneau. All four town council spots are acclaimed with two incumbents Steve Brousseau and Joyce Malenfant and two newcomers Sophie Gagnon and Reginald Manning joining the group.
