Town Council to review garbage hauling bylaw on Brunetville Road

Kapuskasing Town Council will review the garbage hauling bylaw on Brunetville Road east towards Clear Lake Road.

Homeowner Claude Carriere made a presentation to council asking for help with people that are using Brunetville Road and should be going elsewhere. He says there are a number of trucks with garbage falling of the sides and causing problems for homeowners and the roads.

Administrator Guylain Baril says the current bylaw is not easy to enforce and drivers believe that it’s a waste of time. Mayor Dave Plourde says police should be stopping those for unsafe loads and not for hauling on that road.

Construction delays have caused residents to use other routes to access the town’s dump site and not using Gurney Road.
