Cochrane District Social Services Administration Board is hosting a series of in-person parents and caregivers’ workshops on child care services across our region. The sessions begin in Timmins tomorrow and continue in Kapuskasing, Cochrane and Iroquois Falls later in the week. Program manager Gabriella Desmarais-Brunet says the agency is looking for feedback from parents and caregivers.
“What kind of services have they faced with trying to seek out licensed child care?,” she said. “How are the early-on programs? Are the hours meeting everyone’s needs, can they be improved or enhanced? How can we as a service system manager ensure that our early years programs are meeting the needs of our community.”
Desmarais-Brunet says DSSAB offers both early years and early-on child care.
“Our early years programs do go up to the age of 12 because before and after school program are on until the age of 12,” she said. “So it’s neat to hear from a variety of parents with children of different ages and caregivers.”
