A weekly summer camp for children and a farmers market highlight some of the busy activities taking place in Val Rita-Harty this month. Town Hall spokesperson Alex Powers says the farmer’s market takes place on Sunday, July 31st from 10 am to 4 pm at the Community Centre.
“We’re doing it for one day this summer and you know if we have a really good turnout from it and a positive response then we could do more in the future,” she said. “Anyone looking to become a vendor it’s only 25 dollars per space. You can have up to three tables and we provide the tables.”
Food Vendors have until this Friday to submit their paperwork for the event.
Val Rita-Harty is also hosting a Little Explorers’ Summer Camp for children starting every Monday, Wednesday and Friday until the end of the month.
Powers says the camp is open for children ages 5 to 10 but those a little older or younger are invited to attend.
“We’re going to have a mix of indoor and outdoor activities; gardening activities, movies, open gym, library time all kinds of fun stuff,” she said.
