Poker run supports young Fauquier boy

A poker run organized by the Timmins Tuners Car Club this Saturday, will raise money for the Manetta family of Fauquier

Tuners president TeeJay McDonell says Ryder Manetta was born prematurely last November, with a lifelong condition called Prader-Willi Syndrome.

“So he spent the first two months of his life in Ottawa and then he went back a few months ago and then he’s going to have to go again in a few more weeks,” McDonell tells us. “He’s got to see a lot of specialists growing up, so it’s going to be quite expensive for the family.”

The poker run goes from Narduzzi’s Restaurant at the Porcupine Mall to Iroquois Falls, then Cochrane, and back to Narduzzi’s via Highway 655. Registration is at 8:30am, and cars will head out between 9:00am and noon.

“You’ll do 234 km along the route, make five stops,” McDonell adds. “You’ll pick up cards along the way, play a few games, enter some draws, all for fun, all to raise money for this family.”

McDonell says a minimum $25.00 donation is the entry fee.  Proceeds go to gas cards, gift cards and cash for the Manettas.
