Municipal officials from Fauquier-Strickland to Opasatika including Kapuskasing are all smiles following yesterday’s announcement of the new 128 bed long term care facility for the area. Kap Mayor Dave Plourde says he appreciates the teamwork of everyone involved to help improve the quality of life and care for the aging population.
“These additional beds will bring relief to the over burden demands on our current and existing facilities,” he said. “We are confident that this announcement will be well received by all of our citizens and neighbouring communities who heavily depend on our facilities.”
Plourde says project will have a tremendous economic impact for years to come.
“It’s truly an added benefit and value to our region that will have significant economic impact through the creation of additional jobs and spinoffs through construction, training and retention of skilled workforces,” he said.
