First Santa Run coming to Kapuskasing in December

The Kapuskasing Rotary Club is hosting a unique event that will help you stay in shape just in time for that holiday food. It’s the first Santa Run that consists of 2 and 5 kilometre category events, on Sunday, Dec. 12 at 1 pm at the Sports Palace. Co-organizer Robyn Bassari says participants will have the option to run in very unique Santa Claus suits.

“They’re one size fits all kind of decent quality suits that you can run in. They are adult size and we will hopefully have something festive for kids as well.”

Bassari says she got the idea from the Bracebridge Rotary Club and thought it might work in Kapuskasing.

“Trying to get the community out involved and to live Brianna Plourde’s legacy of healthy living, and really just have a fun event where people can just come walk or just come out and support everyone else walking and running.”

The Rotary Club is also partnering with the Brianna Plourde Memorial Fund for the activity.  If you would like to register for the event, there are links below on how to get involved.
