New mammography machine up at running at Sensenbrenner Hospital

Sensenbrenner Hospital has its new mammography machine just in time for Breast Cancer Awareness month. Foundation Chairman Gilbert Peters presented the hospital board with a check for $150,000 to help purchase the new machine. Peters says residents will no longer have to travel or deal with problems with the old machine.

“Our machine is top of the line,” he said. “It gives proper readings compared to our old one where people would have to come back sometimes two or three times to get a proper reading. This machine does it all in one shot, and it does it well.”

Peters says seeing that new machine is a proud moment not only for their group but for the community.

“People responded and sometimes some people came back two and three times to make donations,” he said. “It was just unbelievable how good the people of this region are when our hospital needs something the response is unbelievable.”

Nearly three quarters of the $150,000 target was raised during the Moose FM Radiothon last December.
