Carol Hughes is back as the Member of Parliament for Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing.
Nothing is absolutely official until mail-in ballots are counted, but by late last night and with most of the 220 polls reported, she was ahead by a margin of almost three-to-two over Conservative John Sagman.
This will be Hughes’ fifth term in the House of Commons.

John Sagman – Conservatives – 10,893
Duke Peltier – Liberals – 8478
Harry Jaaskelainen – People’s Party of Canada – 2,854
Stephen Zimmermann – Green Party – 702
Clarence Baarda – Christian Heritage Party – 269
