A 61-year-old Jogues resident heads to bail court tomorrow in Cochrane, facing 22 charges, following a domestic disturbance last Thursday. Ontario Provincial Police charged him after a search of his home on Highway 583 south of Hearst.
The charges include the following:
- Assault – Spousal (three counts), contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code (CC).
- Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm-Spousal (three counts), contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the CC.
- Uttering Threats – Damage to Property, contrary to section 264.1(1)(b) of the CC.
- Careless Storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition (four counts), contrary to section 86(1) of the CC
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Other Drugs, contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
- Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm (three counts), contrary to section 91(1) of the CC.
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, contrary to section 88 of the CC.
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm (two counts), contrary to section 92(1) of the CC.
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon at Unauthorized Place (two counts), contrary to section 93(c) of the CC.
- Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 – in Canada, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC.
- Mischief – destroys or damages property, contrary to section 430(1)(a) of the CC.
The name of the accused is not being released to protect the identity of the victim.
