Local businesses across our region are taking innovative approaches to hiring and recruiting employees to fill many of its positions.

Some grocery and retail stores have been getting help from Le Reseau Du Nord, an organization that assists new Canadians in communities across our region to find jobs.  Rayonier Advanced Materials in Kapuskasing has used old fashion methods as ways to help advertise about 20 jobs it has. The mill put up a large billboard to advertise the job openings. It also plans on using a mailing campaign featuring samples of the new paper product that’s it’s been making recently.

General Manager Pascal Champoux says the jobs are in a number of different locations.

“Between the newsprint mill as well as the sawmill that also including four staff positions,” Champoux said. “We are mainly looking for operations people there will also be opportunities for trades millwrights, electricians and steam engineers.”
