The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Porcupine Health Unit’s region has bumped up to 22 after four new ones were added today. All four are along the James Bay and Hudson Bay Coast. That region has 17 of those active cases, while Timmins has three. The area of Smooth Rock Falls to Matheson and the Hearst Hornepayne region each have one. A total of 113,341 tests for COVID-19 have been completed since the pandemic began.
Meantime, the Porcupine Health Unit is holding a media conference tomorrow at 1:30 pm to discuss step three of the province’s reopening plan that’s schedule to take place after midnight on Thursday. Step three includes larger gathering of crowds both inside and out as well as the return of in person dining at restaurants.
