New videos released highlight the accomplishments of new Canadians in region

Three videos highlighting the accomplishments of new Canadians in our region were unveiled yesterday morning by Le Reseau Du Nord. The non-profit francophone immigration organization produced the videos for the Hearst to Smooth Rock Falls area, Timmins and the Timiskaming District. Economic Development agent Marie-Josee Tremblay says the focus is on several students who graduated from the L’Universite de Hearst.

“After their studies, they ended up with a career in our region and I think it a good thing that we must highlight as well for them,” she said. “They dropped everything they had to come and move here to help us with our work force.”

The videos include comments from local businesses on how newcomers are helping to fill the void in the workforce.

Tremblay is encouraging you to visit its Facebook page and share the three videos.

“We hope that people can talk about the videos,” she said. “We hope to reach regionally, we hope to reach nationally, we hope to reach provincially and we hope internationally. If ever it does reach internationally then we know these tools are a success.”
