UPDATE: Ten more cases confirmed: Four in Timmins, one on the coast and five between Smooth Rock Falls and Matheson. Total now 1,326.
Thirty-two new COVID-19 cases today (Sat.) drive the Porcupine Health Unit’s running total to 1,316. And it’s reporting another grocery store outbreak.
Of the new cases, 24 are in Timmins and four each on the coast and in what the health unit calls “the area of Cochrane, Matheson, Iroquois Falls and Smooth Rock Falls”.
The outbreak is at Dailey’s Independent Grocer in Timmins. Two cases are confirmed in employees there, both blamed on the workplace. The store remains open.
