A 26th resident of the Porcupine Health Unit region has died of COVID-19. That’s all the health unit will say about it, citing respect for the family.
International travel is pegged as the cause of one of the 12 new COVID-19 cases reported today in the region.
It and seven others are in people in Timmins. The remaining four are from what the health unit deems “the area of Cochrane, Matheson, Iroquois Falls and Smooth Rock Falls”.
They’re all in self-isolation.
While the total number of cases is now 541, the number of active cases has declined from one-hundred yesterday to 95 today.
