No dates set yet when town halls like Kapuskasing can re-open

Despite a bunch of new businesses being given the green light to re-open across the province, that has not included town halls and municipal offices. There is no confirmed date on when that could take place. Kapuskasing mayor Dave Plourde says even though they have had no confirmed cases of COVID-19 they still must wait on word from both the provincial government and the Porcupine Health Unit

“As long we follow their guidelines and do things that we are supposed to,” he said. “That means taking the necessary precautions to ensure it is done properly then we are in good hands. I think council is ready to accommodate where necessary and we will open the doors cautiously and when it’s okay to do so.”

Plourde says the residents have done a great job of keeping the community safe and getting to this point of the emergency and adds it is important to press on to get to the finish line.
