Ontario gets close to 19,000 cases of COVID-19; recoveries jump again

Ontario has another 412 new cases of COVID-19.  That brings the provincial total to 18,722.

After a drop in resolved cases yesterday, once again there have been more recoveries reported in the last 24 hours than new cases.  That number is 443, bringing the total number of recoveries to 13,222 or just above 70-percent.

There were 68 more deaths, bringing the total number of people who have passed away to 1,429.

The province only completed 12,961 tests yesterday, still well below the goal of 16,000 per day.  Yesterday Premier Doug Ford said that some local Medical Officers of Health were not doing enough testing. He said, “they need to pick up the pace.”

There have been 346,953 people test negative.
