Affordable housing is coming to Opasatika. A $225,000 grant has been approved by the Ministry of Housing to build two rental units in the former elementary school that’s being turned into a Community Hub. Economic Development officer Alain Robichaud says they will begin design and engineering of the two units with construction to begin sometime this summer. The total cost of the project is over $300,000, with nearly $65,000 being contributed by the municipality and DSAB combined.
