Community Cares Radiothon set for Friday

The countdown is on to the Moose FM Community Cares Radiothon. The 12-hour fundraiser takes place Friday from 6 am to 6 pm at the Moose FM studios. Jeremy Walton of NEOFACS says besides toys they would like to get more clothing and bedding.

“clothing is a big one we would like to get more of,” he said. “We need hygiene products and kits. Mittens, coats and hats are some other big items that we are need too. We would love get bedding and blankets for the children because some find it cold at night when they sleep.”

Walton says he sees first-hand how special it is for children to be helped.

“It makes everything that we do on a daily basis that much more worthwhile,” he said. “They talk about job satisfaction. Well that can happen in a variety of different and this is job satisfaction that isn’t financial.”

Cash and donated items can be dropped off at the Moose FM Studios all day, and at Val Albert Motors from 9 am to 5 pm. The Radiothon hopes to raise $2,500 in cash, and over $8,000 in toys for children.
