Val Rita-Harty will be officially opening their community centre next Saturday, Sept. 21 beginning at 10 am. The centre will be home to a seniors area, gym equipment, a local native artist as family activities on Fridays and Saturdays. Sylvie Pominville with the Municipal Office says they are excited to get the new centre open.
“We are looking forward to having this event and people coming by and seeing us,” she said. “We haven’t had activities like these in quite away so we are very excited.”
There is a full day of activities planned including a children’s bike parade with help of the fire department, speeches, lunch, a tour and hay rides. In the evening there is a concert with two area bands playing. The Trillium Foundation provided funding for the building and development of the community centre.
