If you know a veteran in Canada who is need of help, the Royal Canadian Legion has a program for them. It’s called Operation Leave The Streets Behind and it’s available to any Canadian Veteran or their family members. Service Officer Denis Beaulieu says the program offers a lot of services to veterans.
“The program assists veterans with medical needs, and devices, emergency transportation, emergency assistance or if they need work on their homes,” said Beaulieu. “Some seniors don’t know a lot about this program because they are not on social media or very active so we are doing our part to spread the word about it. We hope more seniors will take advantage of it.”
