Verifying your child’s bus should on your back to school check list. That’s according to Ryan Hartling, Transportation Supervisor of the Northeast Tri-Board that handles busing of students from three of the school boards in our region. Hartling says that there are a lot of changes this time of the year.
“We do make a lot of changes this time of the year so assignments do change, and so does timing when we are adding students and bus stops,” said Hartling. “So it’s best to check multiple times to start the school year because we might make changes.”
Hartling reminds parents to make sure their child is at the bus stop at least 10 minutes before the bus arrives.
“We ask that parents and students be patient with the drivers as there may be some delays this time of the year,” said Hartling. ”
The Northeast Tri-Board has 208 bus routes that handle approximately 7,000 students. There are 11,000 altogether that are the responsibility of the Tri-Board, but some of them are within walking distance from school.
