There appears to be some good news regarding the completion of the Government Road Construction project in Kapuskasing. General Manager of Public Works Eric Cote says they are pouring the last of the concrete on the sidewalks, and its hoped that paving could start next week.
He says their plan all along was to be done by the end of September and they are headed in that direction.
“After the long weekend we will get into the final graveling of the road and getting very close to paving.” he said.
It’s hoped by the end of next week that the intersection of Brunelle Road at Government Road and the lights will be reopened. Cote said they appreciate the patience of the general public during the construction period that featured long delays and plenty of single lane traffic.
