Labor Day Weekend is not only a great time for families to enjoy a three day break before the school year gets rolling, but it’s also a time to reflect strides that have been made in the workplace.
Mushkegowuk-James Bay MPP Guy Bourgouin says workers are faced with the challenge of being asked to do more work for and with less.
“When time are great companies forget what workers have done,” he said. “Workers are being asked to do more and more and it’s putting a stress on them.”
Bourgouin says people take for granted the 40-hour work week, holidays and weekends, but adds that Labor Unions have fought hard over the years to give the workers those rights and freedoms that are now part of day-to-day life.
