New Democrat MPPs are gathering in Thunder Bay this week catching up on issues from across the province as they prepare for the resumption of Queens Park in October. Mushkegowuk-James Bay MPP Guy Bourgouin says one issue that has everyone concerned is the recent cuts by the Provincial Government that were announced at the Municipalities Conference in Ottawa.
“It doesn’t matter if you pay Federal, Provincial or Municipal, downloading to those communities forces them to deal with hard decisions,” said Bourgouin. “Those municipalities can’t afford with what’s being cut by the Provincial Government.”
Bourgouin adds that sometimes MPPs are busy in their own riding meeting people and understanding issues and problems that they get disconnected from what else is happening across the province.
