Great Canadian Kayak Challenge Entrants Up 2 – August 13, 2019
The 11th annual Great Canadian Kayak Challenge And Festival in Timmins is fast approaching.
This year’s event takes place August 22-25 in Timmins at a variety of locations including the Mattagami and Mountjoy Rivers as well as Miller Lake. Manager Tourism Timmins Guy Lamarche says registration is up from a year ago with 43 participants confirmed. He anticipates registration to continue to go grow as the date of the event approaches.
The non-gated event is a showcase of kayak, and canoe challenges, seminars, workshops culture live performing arts and much more. Depending on the division people enter, The Great Canadian Kayak Challenge will take place on the Mattagami and Mountjoy Rivers, including a short paddle on Miller Lake for the Elite Challenge.
